With college football just about three months away, PPF College released its rankings for the highest graded returning running backs in the Big 12 who played at least 150 snaps last season.

Texas Tech star running back Tahj Brooks came in at No. 1 after rushing for 1,541 yards, while adding 10 touchdowns in the 2023 season.

Brooks led college football in forced missed tackles with 96.

West Virginia’s Jahiem White, UCF’s backfield duo of Peny Boone and RJ Harvey, as well as Kansas’ Devin Neal round out the top five.

White solidified his spot as the No. 1 back for the Mountaineers as a freshman. He ran for 204 yards in a victory over the Cincinnati Bearcats on Nov. 18, 2023 and will look for an even bigger role in 2023.

The one-two punch for the UCF Knights will be scary for opposing defenses as Boone and Harvey both rushed for at least 1,400 yards last season. Boone transferred in from Tulane this offseason.

After helping Kansas reach its best season since 2007 finishing 9-4, Neal returns for the Jayhawks after rushing for 1,280 yards and reaching the end zone 16 times.

Running backs Quali Conley (Arizona), DJ Giddens (Kansas State), Ollie Gordon II (Oklahoma State), Abu Sama III (Iowa State), and Corey Kiner (Cincinnati) close out the top ten list.
