A New York jury has found former US president Donald Trump guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records in the hush money case involving adult actor Stormy Daniels, making him the first former president convicted of a crime. Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden has authorised Ukraine to use American weapons for limited strikes in Russia.

In India, former JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna was arrested at Bengaluru airport and is set to face court over allegations of sexual assault and criminal intimidation.

Finally, Japan’s space agency has lost contact with its Akatsuki probe to Venus.

A New York jury on Thursday (May 30) found former United States president Donald Trump guilty on all charges in his hush money case, months before an election that could see him return to the White House. Trump, 77, became the first former US president ever convicted of a crime. A report by the news agency AFP said that the jury found Trump guilty on each of the 34 counts of falsifying business records to hide a payment meant to silence adult actor Stormy Daniels.

President Joe Biden has given a nod to Ukraine to use American weapons to strike targets within Russian territory, though with restrictions. 

Kyiv is allowed to target areas just over the border near Kharkiv, following significant Russian advances around this northeastern city, which is close to the Russian border, according to two US officials who spoke with CNN.

Former Janata Dal (Secular) MP Prajwal Revanna was arrested at the Bengaluru airport early Friday (May 31) and brought to the Crime Investigation Department (CID) office. Revanna, who has been accused of sexually assaulting multiple women, is likely to face a probe by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) over allegations of sexual harassment and criminal intimidation following a complaint by a woman who worked in his household.
