Class of 2025 cornerback Deuce Edwards will make his college decision on Saturday, choosing between the Virginia Tech Hokies and the West Virginia Mountaineers.

Edwards, a Richmond, Virginia, native, originally planned to reveal his choice on June 22nd, but he changed the date to June 15th.

This past weekend, the cornerback took his second official visit to Virginia Tech and canceled a previously planned trip to Michigan State.

According to 247Sports, this race is set to be a photo finish, with the expert predictions split 50/50.

The Mountaineers loaded their 2025 recruiting class with four-star running back Deandre Desinor, as well as three-star commits Romando Johnson, Gavin Crawford, Zah Jackson, and Tariq Mallory, according to 247Sports.

Three-star defensive lineman Taylor Brown also committed to WVU on Wednesday morning.

West Virginia finished with its most wins in a season since 2016, as the team went 9-4 and defeated North Carolina in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl.

On the other hand, Virginia Tech had a solid year last season, as the Hokies finished 2023 with a 7-6 record. The team defeated Tulane 41-20 in the Military Bowl, where former Baylor QB Kyron Drones had a stellar performance both in the air and on the ground. The dual-threat QB finished with three total touchdowns and went for 176 yards on the ground. The Hokies start the 2024 season at Vanderbilt, whereas the Mountaineers host Penn State on Aug. 31.
