On Saturday, streets of the capital Dhaka were almost deserted at daybreak, with troops on foot and in armoured personnel carriers patrolling the city. As per reports, police had also imposed a ‘shoot-on-sight-order’. Meanwhile, health authorities are on high alert in southern Indian state of Kerala amid suspected outbreak of Nipah virus. Earlier on Friday, a 14-year-old boy was rushed to a private hospital in Kozhikode with symptoms of the zoonotic virus.
