Seahawks reportedly schedule workout with another former UFL receiver

The Seattle Seahawks’ quest for more players at the wide receiver position is unending.

NFL insider Aaron Wilson wrote that Ty Scott, formerly of the UFL’s DC Defenders, is slated to visit the Seahawks for a workout later this Monday afternoon.

If this sounds familiar, it’s because this was also reported back in June. No word on whether or not this is a second workout for Scott or just a delay from when this was initially reported.

Scott caught 25 passes for 418 yards and 3 touchdowns in nine games with the DC Defenders last season. The former Central Michigan player was briefly with the Kansas City Chiefs last offseason but obviously did not make the roster.

Over the past two seasons of spring football (USFL and XFL in 2023, the merged UFL in 2024), it’s been common for players to turn their time with their respective teams into an NFL contract. Seattle already has former Birmingham Stallions running back Ricky Person Jr on the roster, and reportedly agreed to terms with Michigan Panthers receiver Marcus Simms. Unlike Simms, Scott has no special teams returner experience.

The Seahawks have an open roster spot heading into Wednesday’s first practice.
