India’s External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar said that the Quadrilateral Security Alliance (Quad), widely dubbed as a geopolitical challenge to China’s maritime strategy in the Indo-Pacific, is no talk shop and is poised to grow. Meanwhile, a stabbing incident in the UK has kept the country’s northwest on alert. Besides, in the Paris Olympics, India’s Men’s Field Hockey team proceeded with a 1-1 stalemate against Argentina. 

Emphasising the growing importance of Quad (Quadrilateral Security Dialogue), India’s external affairs minister Dr S Jaishankar has said that the grouping is “here to stay, here to do and here to grow”. Quad is a grouping of four countries, India, the US, Japan and Australia and the foreign ministers of these countries are meeting in the Japanese capital Tokyo today.

Delhi High Court (HC) on Monday (Jul 29) reserved its judgment on the bail plea filed by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the liquor excise policy scam. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader, currently in judicial custody, had directly approached the HC, seeking bail without going to the trial court.
