PFF College released its list of “Five players poised for bounce-back years,” and Utah tight end Brant Kuithe made the list.

Kuithe’s college football career has been affected by several injuries, and after missing all of last season, he will return to the gridiron for the first time since 2022.

That season, the 6-foot-2 offensive threat tallied 206 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

PFF explained why expectations should be high for the star player, mentioning that “back in 2021, Kuithe recorded 611 receiving yards and six touchdowns, with his 80.5 receiving grade good for 11th among 59 qualifying Power Five tight ends.”

Utah is entering its first season of competing in the Big 12 Conference. With standout quarterback Cam Rising returning, the belief is that the program should compete for the conference title and fight for a spot in the College Football Playoff.

Kuithe’s last full season came in 2021, as he totaled 611 yards and six touchdowns, so he is an experienced tight end who will have a large role with the team in 2024.

The Utes begin the season as hosts to Southern Utah on Thursday, Aug. 29 at 9 p.m. EST before beginning conference play the following week against the Baylor Bears.
