Scott Connolly of Salem, the athletic director at Bishop Fenwick High School, will be inducted into the Ithaca College Hall of Fame at a ceremony next month in Ithaca, N.Y.

A 1996 graduate, Connolly played three years of football for the Bombers and also wrestled for two years. He was a First Team All-American defensive end in football, finishing his career with 174 total tackles (29 tackles for loss) and 14 sacks.

When Ithaca went 10-3 in his junior year (1994) and reached the NCAA Division 3 semifinals, Connolly had 73 tackles. The former Salem High star added another 66 (15 for loss) and sacked the quarterback 10 times during his All-American senior year.

His 10 sacks rank seventh on the Bombers’ single season list, while the 83 yards lost on sacks is first all-time. Connolly would also be named First Team All-ECAC and was the football program’s team MVP.

On the career list, Connolly is tied for third in sack yardage (96), ninth in sacks (14) and 10th in tackles for loss yards (122).

Connolly and his wife Renee have four children, who of whom are playing college football: Jake at Ithaca and Tyler at RPI.
