Crystal Palace player deletes every reference to club on his social media after being banished from training

Crystal Palace star Rob Holding has deleted every reference of the club on his social media after being completely frozen out.

The 28-year-old signed for Palace from Arsenal a year ago for a fee of £4 million but has made just a single appearance – in a Carabao Cup defeat to Manchester United.

Holding has been plagued by injuries during his time at Selhurst Park and the addition of three centre-backs in Chadi Riad, Maxence Lacroix and Trevoh Chalobah pushes him further down the pecking order.

The former Bolton Wanderers player is currently fit but after the draw with Chelsea last weekend, manager Oliver Glasner explained that Holding is training alone.

However, he refused to go into too much detail as to why Holding isn’t with the main group.

“Rob [Holding] is training individually at the moment,” Glasner said in his press conference.

“We will talk together. He knows the reason, but it is something that stays between Rob and me. Nothing public.”

Holding has not commented on the matter himself but looks to have made his feelings clear on Instagram.

As noted by fans on social media, Holding appears to have deleted all of his Palace-related posts on his profile.

Instead, the bulk of his pictures on his grid are from his time at Arsenal – made of training and match snaps.

Holding’s last post was from October 2023, a month after signing for Palace.

His announcement post and some training pics were present previously.

He also looks to have unfollowed Palace on Instagram, in an apparent unhappy response to his situation.

Fans have reacted to the social media activity, with many feeling sad for Holding.

One wrote: “Turned into a sh**** move for him in the end. Hope he can secure another club and actually play a little before calling it a day.”

Another said: “Shame how it’s worked out for him. Say what you will about his level but he never hid, unlike a lot of people he had to share a pitch with.”

A third wrote: “I hope he finds himself a new club soon, maybe in the MLS

A fourth commented: “He’s a decent cb. Surely some low PL club will be interested in him?”
