Usher dedicated a rendition of “There Goes My Baby” to WNBA forward Angel Reese this week.
The Chicago Sky star, who’s currently recovering from a season-ending wrist injury, attended the Los Angeles stop of Usher’s Past Present Future tour, where the R&B singer serenaded her in the VIP section. To the surprise of other concert attendees, Reese didn’t shy away from the mic and showed off her singing chops.
Reese nearly stole the show, similar to other famous woman who’ve attended Usher concerts, like Issa Rae, Taraji P. Henson, Doja Cat and Saweetie. The latter hilariously sang the “baby” part of “There Goes My Baby” while attending Usher’s Las Vegas residency last July.
Usher and Reese’s sing-along marks their latest link-up after the two connected in July. The occasion followed the Chicago Sky’s win against the Las Vegas Aces, a game Usher attended in support of the team. He also held a meet-and-greet with both teams afterward.
Throughout her recovery, Reese has been quite the socialite at public events and even started a podcast, titled Unapologetically Angel. The show’s episodes have so far included Latto, Mariah the Scientist, Polo G and more as guests.
“It’s another way for me to connect with my fans and reach new audiences I wouldn’t necessarily have before,” Reese recently told Complex. “I can’t wait to share a different side with listeners and have them come on this ride with me.”
