UFL To NFL Rundown: Week Four Action

Another week in the NFL, and more opportunities for former UFL athletes to continue to make an impact at the highest level in football. This weekend, we saw several USFL/XFL alumni make their mark for their respective teams yet again.

K Brandon Aubrey, Cowboys: Brandon Aubrey is a staple of these lists, being clutch once again for Dallas in their win over New York. He was 2/3 on the day on field goals, with a long of 60 yards. He did have a late miss, but it didn’t matter as time was expiring.

DE Dondrea Tillman, Broncos: Dondrea Tillman burst into his NFL debut last week with an outstanding stat-line. This earned him another week on the active roster, totaling two tackles as the Broncos shocked the Jets 10-9 on Sunday.

DT LaBryan Ray, Panthers: LaBryan Ray, formerly of the Philadelphia Stars, has been on the Panthers active roster for a couple of seasons now. Ray made an impact in Carolina’s loss to Cincinnati, posting four tackles.

K Jake Bates, Lions: While Bates didn’t attempt any field goals this weekend, he didn’t have to. The Lions scored six touchdowns, and Jake converted on all six of his XP attempts. In addition, he had a tackle as well – the first of his pro career in the NFL.

S Micah Abernathy, Falcons: Micah Abernathy, formerly a standout safety with the Houston Gamblers, has been a solid rotational piece for Atlanta the last two years. This weekend, he compiled two tackles during Atlanta’s walkoff win against New Orleans.

P Daniel Whelan, Packers: Daniel Whelan had himself a day with the Packers. He punted three times for a total of 180 yards, with a long of 74 yards. In addition, his first punt which was muffed allowed Green Bay to gain some momentum, almost getting back into the thick of things late.

In addition, DT’s Khalil Davis (Texans) and Jeremiah Pharms (Patriots) both had a tackle this Sunday. Both were USFL alumni, with the Stallions and Maulers respectively.

Had it not been for the UFL providing these players with a national platform the last few years, who knows if these opportunities would have been made possible. You can stay up to date on all UFL to NFL movements with our official tracker.
