Missouri quarterback Brady Cook exited Saturday’s Week 8 game against Auburn with an apparent ankle injury. Initially hobbled early in the first quarter following a sack, Cook slipped on the turf three plays later and stayed down.

Cook was eventually able to jog to Missouri’s locker room. He completed three of his four pass attempts for 37 yards before leaving the game. With his ankle taped, the expectation is that he will return to the game, according to the ESPN broadcast.

Arizona State transfer Drew Pyne entered the game and completed a 6-yard screen to wide receiver Theo Wease. That put Missouri in field goal range, where a 51-yard boot from kicker Blake Craig put the Tigers up 3-0.

It would be a huge blow to Missouri’s offense if the injury forces Cook miss extended time. Entering Saturday’s game, Cook had 1,357 yards passing and seven touchdowns with just one interception. He had at least one passing touchdown in five of Missouri’s six games thus far and also rushed for four touchdowns in the same span.

CBS Sports will update this story as more information becomes available.
