Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton 46, Perham 14

GLYNDON — The third-ranked Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Rebels steamed through the No. 6 Perham Yellow Jackets in a Section 8-3A first-round contest on Tuesday night.

Rebels running backs Casey Macziewski and Quincy DuMarce both had multiple rushing touchdowns. DGF totaled 425 yards on the ground and had 11 different ball carriers.

Macziewski wasted no time, scoring a 43-yard rushing touchdown on the third play of the game. The Rebels converted a two-point conversion.

Rebels Kade Swenson broke loose for a 51-yard rushing score to make it 14-0. Macziewski notched his second TD of the night in the second quarter on a 3-yard rumble. Owen Meyers scored a 13-yard rushing touchdown that was set up by Macziewski’s blocked punt.

With the clock winding down in the second quarter, Macziewski tallied his third touchdown of the night with a 52-yard run to the house. DGF led 34-0 at halftime.

Perham wide receiver Ty Rooney caught a 9-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter. Yellowjackets defensive end Ashton Detloff recovered a fumble at the DGF 11. It was his second fumble recovery of the night.

DuMarce answered for the Rebels in the third quarter with a 39-yard rushing score. DGF linebacker Dylan Bitker intercepted a pass in the end zone to eliminate a deep Perham drive. Two plays later, DuMarce broke loose for a 76-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.

Yellowjackets quarterback Alex Blume connected with Maddux Swentik on a 65-yard double-flea flicker touchdown. Blume finished 14-for-32 with 178 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.

Swenson had an interception in the third quarter. Defensive linemen Bodie Musolf and Nolan Dale both had half sacks.

Perham finished the season 1-8. DGF is now 6-3 and plays No. 2 seed Morris/Chokio-Alberta in the section semifinals at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at Big Cat Stadium in Morris.

DGF has won five games in a row after starting the season 1-3. Morris handed the Rebels their last loss, 34-32 in three overtimes, on Sept. 20, in Morris.

West Fargo Horace 3, Fargo Shanley 2

FARGO — West Fargo Horace overcame a two-set deficit and handed Fargo Shanley its first Eastern Dakota Conference loss with a five-set win on Tuesday.

Horace won 22-25, 20-25, 25-17, 25-21, 18-6.

Horace is now 11-4 in EDC points and 18-7 overall while Shanley dropped to 15-1 in EDC points and 21-4 overall.

West Fargo Sheyenne 3, Fargo South 1

FARGO — West Fargo Sheyenne topped Fargo South 25-17, 24-26, 25-19, 25-23 in an Eastern Dakota Conference match on Tuesday at South High School.

Sheyenne’s Cora Metcalf finished with 12 kills and four blocks. Mya Bloedow had eight kills, six blocks and nine digs, Alexa Killoran had eight kills, two blocks, two ace serves and nine digs. Abby Smith had eight kills.

Makayla Amundson had 19 set assists and served two aces, Marley Budeau had 17 assists and Brynlie Richman had 11 assists and two ace serves.

South’s Talyn Hoffert had 13 kills and two blocks, and Abby Baukol had 11 kills. Mara Whiting had 35 set assists, Ruby Hawley had 21 digs and two ace serves and Amelia Hawley had 20 digs.

Sheyenne improved to 13-2 in EDC points and 24-2 overall. South is now 6-10 in EDC points and 14-11 overall.

Fargo Davies 3, West Fargo 1

WEST FARGO — Fargo Davies defeated West Fargo 25-13, 17-25, 26-24, 25-16 in an Eastern Dakota Conference match on Tuesday.

Davies’ Ava Leingang had 14 kills and two blocks and Fallon Passanante had 11 kills. Lauren Barth had nine kills and four blocks. Quinn Skari had eight kills, 22 set assists and nine digs. Greta Bothum had 21 assists.

West Fargo’s Mya Glandt had 10 kills and 14 digs and Aurey Morris had six kills and nine digs. Harper Odden had 17 set assists and 11 digs, and Liv Odden had nine assists.

Davies is 12-2 in EDC points and 17-7 overall. West Fargo fell to 8-8 in EDC points and 15-11 overall.

Grand Forks Red River 3, Fargo North 1

GRAND FORKS — Grand Forks Red River bested Fargo North 25-21, 22-25, 25-18, 25-20 in an Eastern Dakota Conference match on Tuesday.

North fell to 7-9 in EDC points and 12-14 overall while Red River improved to 10-5 in EDC points and 14-11 overall.

MOORHEAD — Bethel scored in the final minutes of the game to earn a tie with Concordia in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game on Tuesday at the Jake Christiansen Athletic Complex.

The Cobbers’ Emily Larsen scored her second goal of the season unassisted at 66:41. But Bethel’s Malia Beilby tied the game with her 10th goal of the season at 86:35 on an assist from Sydney Ebner.

Concordia goalkeeper Kaitlin Petrich stopped eight of nine shots and Bethel goalie Kate Green made seven saves.

The Cobbers are 4-4-1 in the MIAC and 8-5-1 overall. They play at St. Catherine at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.

MSU Moorhead 3, Minot State 0

MOORHEAD — Minnesota State Moorhead cruised to a 25-20, 25-13, 25-20 win over Minot in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference match on Tuesday at Alex Nemzek Fieldhouse.

MSUM’s Brielle Riess had 11 kills, served three aces, had two blocks and 13 digs. Emily Ramsay had nine kills and served three aces, and Abby Thompson had eight kills.

Annalise Wilson had 23 set assists and Amanda Lisi had 12 assists and seven digs.

The Dragons are 3-7 in the NSIC and 8-10 overall. They face a tough weekend, playing host to No. 25 Minnesota Duluth at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, then taking on No. 3 St. Cloud State at home at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.

Bison rise to 8th place at Hawaii invite

KAPOLEI, Hawaii — The North Dakota State women’s golf team rose three spots into eighth place after Tuesday’s second round of the three-day Rainbow Wahine Invitational, at Kapolei Golf Course.

The Bison are 7-over heading into Wednesday’s final day, four shots behind seventh-place Sacramento State. Colorado State and Kansas State are at 12-under and share the lead. Cal Irvine is third at 7-under.

The Bison’s Avery Bartels, Nora Roberts and Hannah Dunk are all 1-over and tied for 24th. Colorado State’s Lacey Uchida is 9-under, one shot ahead of Kansas State’s Carla Bernat.

The tournament wraps up on Wednesday at Kapolei GC.
