Angel Reese set a WNBA record surpassing another LSU Tigers legend

This year in the WNBA, all of the talk has been about Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark. While some just appreciate the greatness each time they take the court, most have been debating who should win the Rookie of the Year Award. Both have downplayed the nature of their rivalry and to be fair it’s true as they aren’t playing these games to one up eachother.

This season, Angel Reese has been a spectacular player and has shown that her game translates to the WNBA. On the season, Reese is averaging 13.2 points per game, 12.9 rebounds per game,1.8 assists per game, and 1.3 steals per game. This season she has been a walking double-double setting the record for the most consecutive double-doubles in WNBA history.

The history hasn’t stopped there however, as Angel Reese etched her name in the History books once again on Sunday. After grabbing her 405th rebound of the season, Reese broke the single-season rebounds record surpassing another LSU legend, Sylvia Fowles. Fowles also started her career with the Sky before setting the record with the Lynx.

Picking between Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark will be impossible as the two continue to break records every time they take the court. Given how many records each have set it’s impossible to honor one and not the other. It would be a great honor to both and given how tied together their careers will be it makes perfect sense to split the award.
