Denver Broncos running back Tyler Badie was loaded onto a stretcher and carted off the field at MetLife Stadium in the second quarter Sunday against the New York Jets.

Badie fumbled the ball on a third-down play near the end of the first quarter after appearing to be hit in the back by Jets linebacker Quincy Williams. Badie walked off the field under his own power, and a TV replay showed him holding his lower back as he reached the sideline. During the break between the first and second quarters, trainers placed Badie in a neck brace and moved him to a stretcher before being driven into a tunnel.

Badie was originally listed as questionable to with a back injury, but then the team deemed Badie as out for the remainder of the game.

Badie, who entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens in 2022, is now in his third season with the Broncos. He had a team-high 70 yards rushing on nine carries in a Week 3 win against the Buccaneers as a practice-squad elevation. He was promoted to the active roster this week after linebacker Alex Singleton went on injured reserve with a torn ACL.

Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. suffered a ribs injury earlier in the first quarter after being illegally hit on a punt return play by Jets receiver Irvin Charles. Mims was initially ruled as questionable with a ribs injury, but he returned to the game.
