Fan-Made BIG 12 College Football Promo Set To “Mammas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys” Is PURE ELECTRICITY

If I’ve learned anything this football offseason, it’s that college football fans LOVE to see a hype video set to a classic country music song.

The first time I saw it happen, a passionate SEC football fan had put together an impressive montage set to Tanya Tucker’s all-time-classic “Delta Dawn.” It might seem like an odd pairing, but let me tell you, it was legitimately goosebump-inducing.

Check it out:

Pretty good right?

Well, a fan of the BIG 12 saw that and felt some FOMO (fear of missing out, for anyone that still uses Facebook as their main social media platform), so they crafted their own version. Is this one below basically a copy cat video? Sort of, but isn’t imitation the sincerest form of flattery?

Instead of pulling from the Tanya Tucker catalogue, this social media user decided to go with Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson’s 1978 hit “Mammas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys.” It’s both a great fit for the BIG 12 highlight reel and a fitting message to all of those players in college: Don’t get drafted by the Dallas Cowboys.

Needless to say, it’s electric:

The BIG 12 needs to get the creator of that video on the phone ASAP. That’s your 2024 season promo.

Though it would need to be tweaked just a tad, since they entirely forgot to include West Virginia in the mix, which the creator admitted when discussing their inspiration for creating the video in the first place:

Well, just add WVU in there and it’ll be fine. It certainly got BIG 12 fans fired up, as they happily shared in the reply section of the post on X:
