Footage of Federico Chiesa’s wife, Lucia, at Anfield has emerged amid reports linking him with a move away from Liverpool.

During what was a quiet transfer window for Liverpool in the summer, Chiesa was the only immediate signing after he left Serie A giants Juventus for Anfield.

However, it has since been tough for the 26-year-old, who has only managed three appearances for the club, registering one assist.

In recent weeks, Chiesa has been out of the Liverpool squad due to injury and there have since been reports linking him with a January move away from the club.

It has been suggested that Chiesa could move back to Italy with three Serie A sides said to be interested in the forward.

Despite the rumours of homesickness, a video of Chiesa’s wife watching the match at Anfield has since emerged.

Chiesa’s wife, Lucia, posted a string of different pictures and videos on her Instagram earlier in the week, which included footage of her swaying side to side to Liverpool’s ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ anthem ahead of kick-off. The post was captioned: “Some random moments from the past few days”.

Speaking about Chiesa’s struggles since joining the club, Liverpool boss Arne Slot said: “He missed a complete pre-season, I said this many times, and going to a league where the intensity might even be higher than the Italian league.

“So that makes it difficult for him to make the step towards the intensity levels the rest of the team is at at the moment.”

He added: “So, difficult to say, but it’s a big disappointment for him that he is going in and out of the training sessions all the time. I feel sorry for him.”

However, ahead of Sunday’s clash against Arsenal in the Premier League, Slot gave a positive update regarding Chiesa.

He said: “I think they feel good but not when it comes to playing for us during the weekend.

“Federico might train with us today or tomorrow – but Diogo definitely not. And Conor Bradley, let’s see if he can be with us tomorrow.”
