WHAT VICTOR SANCHEZ HERNANDEZ SAYS ABOUT WASHINGTON

“I chose Washington because they have something really special going on over here.”

“Their motto of ‘be a pro’ is truly the future of Washington and I want to be a part of it.

“Another reason I chose Washington was because it’s close to home and I feel like I would be playing for a bigger reason.”

WHO ELSE WAS IN THE MIX

Boise State, BYU, Oregon State, Utah and Washington State were among his other offers and his coach played for the Cougs while the Beavers were making a big push, as were the Utes, who offered him in late May.

But the Huskies offered a week ago after their camp, got him down for an official visit a week later and locked up his commitment.

WHERE VICTOR SANCHEZ HERNANDEZ RANKS AS A RECRUIT

Sanchez Hernandez is a three-star by 247Sports, the No. 113 edge nationally and the No. 16 prospect in the state of Washington in 2025.

HOW VICTOR SANCHEZ HERNANDEZ FITS WITH THE SCHOOL

Washington is bringing Sanchez Hernandez in as an edge and at 6-5, 240-pounds, he could end up being a three-tech down the line, depending on how his body progresses when he gets to college.

WHAT WE THINK ABOUT VICTOR SANCHEZ HERNANDEZ

Sanchez Hernandez is an intriguing prospect.  He’s still raw as a player, having an extensive background in Taekwondo, an international competitor with Olympic aspirations.  He’s only played football in high school and his focus had long been in taekwondo so as he focuses more on football, he’s got a chance to develop into a player.  He’ll probably need a redshirt year at the least, and will need to continue to get stronger and work on his moves – he’s still a work in progress, as was evident at some linemen events this spring, but he’s a high ceiling prospect with size you can’t teach.
