Ibrahima Konate wasn’t best pleased he didn’t receive the Man of the Match award for his performance during Liverpool’s victory over Wolves.
Konate opened the scoring at Molineux during the Reds 2-1 success, with Mohamed Salah netting the all-important goal from the penalty spot.
Currently top of the Premier League table after an impressive start, Arne Slot’s side are beginning to find a new gear.

Konate, who was dropped and replaced by Jarell Quansah for the latter part of last season, has recovered well.
Having now registered three goal involvements in as many games, the French defender was gutted to hear how the Man of the Match accolade instead was going the way of Ryan Gravenberch.
“Sky Sports, who decides who is the Man of the Match? How is this possible?!” he began.
“He’s my brother, I have to give it to him. [But] Milan I score, today I score, I say what did I do to not deserve it?!
“No, no, no, what happened? You know! You have to talk with them, I don’t know who decides it.”
When informed by a member of the Sky Sports team who had chosen Gravenberch, Konate said: “Gary Neville!”
Gravenberch smiled: “Thank you, Gary…”
“Maybe he forgot the moment we conceded a goal!” responded Slot when told about Konate’s reaction.
“Maybe that was the reason we conceded, that he wasn’t there in the moment, because I have to say it was at least avoidable.”
Liverpool’s team morale looks more evident than ever, with some perhaps suggesting that all may change following Jurgen Klopp’s departure.
Only Federico Chiesa arrived this summer as Liverpool attempt to challenge big-hitters Manchester City and Arsenal.
“It’s almost ideal that we played Wolves today because we are top and they’re last and they absolutely don’t deserve to be last,” added Slot.
“They had a very difficult fixture list and I’ve seen many games of them and in almost every game they deserve more.
“You could even argue [that] today because it wasn’t like we were so much better than them.
“They were in the game [and] doing a lot of good things. If they keep doing this against other teams as well they will never end up No.20 [in the league].
“We still have to prove that when we come across Arsenal, Newcastle, Chelsea [and] Aston Villa [to see] if we can then still be up there with Champions League games included as well.
