GREENSBORO, N.C. (WMC) – Memphis Showboats player Diondre Overton died on Saturday, according to the United Football League.
Deputies said they responded around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday to a home on Spring Mill Road over a noise disturbance, according to our sister station, WIS10 in North Carolina.
On the way there, deputies were told a shooting had happened at the house.
Deputies said that when they arrived, the shooting victim was identified as 26-year-old Diondre Overton.
Despite immediate medical aid, Overton was pronounced dead at the scene, according to WIS10.
Deputies say this is an isolated incident but remains an active and ongoing homicide investigation.
