Report: Browns add All-UFL guard Saturday afternoon, veteran OLman left practice limping

One thing is for sure when it comes to Cleveland Browns GM Andrew Berry: He rarely stays idle for long. Whether it is constant motion while at the NFL combine, moving up and down the draft (except this season) or the consistent movement on the bottom of the roster, the Browns GM stays busy.

Cleveland’s training camp has seen its first three days come and go Saturday. Sunday is a day off for the team as some players start to get healthy, Dawand Jones’ position seems certain and the Haslams talk about a new stadium.

Not everyone will enjoy Sunday however. In a move that will require a player to be waived, released or placed on injured reserve, Berry is reportedly adding OL Zack Johnson to the roster:

While it is not confirmed, it is possible that the addition of Johnson is a direct reaction to a potential injury to veteran OL Brian Allen on Saturday:

Allen was signed this offseason and has experience with new offensive line coach Andy Dickerson.

Johnson went undrafted in 2020 and bounced around five practice squads in three seasons. Last year, as noted, Johnson was named to the All-UFL team as a part of the Birmingham Stallions.

The North Dakota State product spent five years in college playing both guard and tackle positions.

We will keep you up to date with all roster moves as Berry keeps the wheels spinning including when the addition of Johnson becomes official and the corresponding move.
