Jared Smith, a 2025 Top247 five-star prospect from powerhouse Alabaster (Ala.) Thompson, committed Saturday afternoon to Auburn, giving the Tigers the No. 19 overall prospect in the senior class. The Top247 puts Smith No. 2 overall in the state of Alabama and No. 2 nationally among 2025 edge prospects.
Legitimately 6-foot-6 with exceptional length, Smith’s long-term potential is virtually limitless. He combines elite physical traits with promising athletic markers in a combine setting, which accompany multi-sport experience in basketball.
Smith is also quite young for the 2025 cycle with a late July 2007 date of birth. That means he will only recently have hit 18 years of age when his freshman season of college football begins.
