SEMO partnership offers personal finance course to employees – KBSI Fox 23 Cape Girardeau News | Paducah News

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Sikeston Chamber of Commerce, Southeast Missouri State University and Center Street Station have launched a personal finance course. The course will be tailored to educate students on financial skills.

The program is designed to build financial confidence and enhance money management strategies.

The course offers training on topics like budgeting, saving, investing, debt management, and retirement planning.

Through hands-on sessions and expert-led discussions, participants gain actionable insights and practical tools to improve their financial decision-making.

The program is currently being presented for Alan Wire employees, SEMO is actively looking for opportunities to provide similar courses to other local and regional businesses, helping employers invest in the financial well-being of their workforce.

“Offering this course is just one example of how we can support local businesses with practical, impactful training for their employees,” said Dan Presson, Assistant Vice President of Economic and Workforce Development at SEMO. “Our goal is to provide a range of educational opportunities that businesses can tap into, whether it’s financial literacy, leadership development, or technical skills training.”
