Stimulus Payment 1112 Claim: What is the deadline to file the PTC application?

Colorado residents have the chance to claim up to $1,112 through the Property Tax, Rent, Heat (PTC) Rebate program, offered by the state’s Department of Revenue. This benefit is designed for low-income individuals, seniors and people with disabilities, and it is available whether or not the applicant has a Social Security Number.

The program aims to assist eligible residents with expenses during the colder months, supported by a $7 million fund. To qualify, applicants must be full-year Colorado residents who are at least 65 years old, surviving spouses aged 58 or older, or any age if they are disabled.

Who is eligible for the payment

Eligibility is based on income and certain living expenses. Individual applicants must have an income of $18,026 or less, while married couples filing jointly should not exceed $24,345.

Additionally, applicants need to have lived in Colorado for the full year of 2023 and paid rent, property tax, or heating costs within that period. They must also not have been claimed as a dependent on another person’s federal tax return.

Deadlines for PTC applications

For applications received by December 10, the full rebate is issued as a single payment starting in January 2025. For applications received by December 31, 2025, full rebates are paid 10 weeks after receipt (12 weeks if by paper check).

Applicants can track their status via the Colorado Department of Revenue’s online portal, requiring a username and password. New users will need to register to access this feature.

Additional PTC rebate information

The address on the PTC application must match the one on a Colorado ID or driver’s license. If a change is needed, residents should contact the Motor Vehicle Division or update their information online to avoid delays. For those without a Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN), an Alternate Identification Number can be requested when applying for the rebate.
