On Sunday, Gus Malzahn and the UCF Knights added a new name to their roster with the commitment of former UAB cornerback Mac McWilliams.

McWilliams, a 5-foot-10 junior from Florida, spent the previous four seasons at UAB and finished his redshirt junior season off with the fifth-most tackles on the team.

In four seasons with the Blazers, the Florida native posted 100 total tackles, 22 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one interception. As a junior in 2023, McWilliams recorded a career-best 52 stops.

Coming out of Pine Forest High School in the Class of 2020, McWilliams was listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 2640th-ranked prospect. He also checked in as the 240th-ranked player at his position and the 352nd-ranked player in the state of Florida.

With his commitment, McWilliams became the 10th transfer to commit to UCF this spring and the 25th overall addition this offseason. He joins a cast pf high-profile transfers that currently rank 22nd in the country.

McWilliams and the rest of the 2024 class of transfers will take the field for the Knights on Thursday, August 29th, against New Hampshire.
