The last course for 2024 of the Greenhouse Online Training courses offered by the University of Florida IFAS Extension has been announced. The course, Practical Disease Management, is aimed at those who have taken the UF/IFAS Field Diagnosis of Plant Disease course or know how to identify diseases but have doubts about their best choices for management. This is an intermediate course that teaches to prevent disease by learning how diseases develop and spread, understanding basic organic and conventional management, and safely applying and handling fungicides. This course is taught in English and Spanish.

Practical Disease Management is taught by Dr. Carrie Harmon, Director of the UF/IFAS Plant Diagnostic Center in Gainesville, FL, and Co-Director of the National Plant Diagnostic Network. This brand-new course expands on the past Disease Management course and is part of the Plant Health Professional Certificate.

The course runs from November 11 to December 13, 2024. The cost is $US275 per participant, with a 20% discount if you register 5 or more. All course material is completely online and available at any time of the day and includes pre-recorded videos, an interactive discussion board with PhD professors, and quizzes. Two new modules are activated each week during the course, for a total of 8 learning modules. Instruction is at your own pace and time within the 4 weeks of the course, with a typical time commitment of about 4 hours per week.
