J.D. Vance and Kamala Harris landed at the same airport today in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Vance and his team walked over to the reporters covering the arrival of Air Force Two.

“Hopefully, it’s going to be my plane in a few months,” Vance said.

“I also thought you guys might get lonely, because the vice president doesn’t answer questions from reporters,” he added.

“I thought the reporters traveling with Kamala might be a little lonely given that she never answers questions from them, so I figured I’d come say hello and check out my new plane while I was at it,” Vance said.

“Harris is currently in Wisconsin preparing for her upcoming rally with Tim Walz, as her motorcade leaves the airport, where thousands of people are expected to see them speak,” Rawsalerts noted.

From the New York Post:

Vance, who spoke to the press after approaching Air Force Two, asked: “Have they given you guys an explanation for why she won’t take questions from reporters?”

The Ohio senator went on: “I’d love her to just answer what she wants to do and also explain why every single position she has has changed. She pretends to be a tough-on-crime prosecutor and yet here she is wanting to defund the police. She’s the border czar, yet she’s opened up the American southern border.”

Vance concluded, “This is a person who has to answer questions from the media and it’s disgraceful that she runs from you guys, and it’s also insulting to the American people.”

Although Harris has given few on-record answers to reporters since President Biden dropped his re-election bid on July 21 and endorsed her as his successor, she has frequently gaggled off the record with reporters on Air Force Two — answering questions about various topics but not permitting those answers to be reported.

Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, held their first joint rally in the battleground midwestern states.

“The crowd was heard chanting: ‘This is what democracy looks like.’ It’s unclear what exactly they were referring to considering Kamala Harris was *not* democratically nominated and received no votes in the primary,” Collin Rugg wrote.

StarTribune reports:

Walz was in friendly territory in his neighboring state, receiving a thunderous ovation and praise from top Wisconsin Democrats who spoke before him. Harris told the crowd that Wisconsin will play a pivotal role in this year’s presidential election.

“The path to the White House runs right through this state, and with your help, we will win in November,” Harris said. “We are going to win.”

Their outdoor rally held in the farm country of Eau Claire was the second since Harris announced Walz as her running mate. A Harris-Walz rally in Philadelphia on Tuesday night drew 10,000 inside the venue and 4,000 outside. Harris and Walz are in the midst of a jam-packed schedule of stops in competitive battleground states.

It was Harris’ second stop in Wisconsin since President Joe Biden left the race. Trump’s vice-presidential running mate, Ohio U.S. Sen. JD Vance, also traveled to Eau Claire on Wednesday to counter the Democrats’ messaging.
