PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – The Wood County branch of the Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department is looking for a new home following a water main break in their office in downtown Parkersburg.

Health Department officials updated the Wood County Commission on their during the commission’s meeting on Monday.

The officials and the commissioners discussed new possible sites for the health department, including Campbell Plaza on 7th Street downtown, Saint Joseph’s Landing, and the old Lincoln School. Health Department Community Health Director Malcolm Lanham said they’ll want to set up their offices somewhere convenient for the people they serve. “Where are all of our clients that we’ve seen from Wood County in the last year?” Lanham said. “What’s their physical addresses? So, we’re working on trying to get that redacted out of our electronic health records right now so we can plot that out on a map and see where our clients are all coming from.”

For the time being, the health department’s WIC appointments would be taking place at the Jackson Community Building in Vienna. Clinical appointments will be at the South Parkersburg Baptist Church wellness center. More details and current contact information can be found at the MOVHD’s Facebook page.
